Instant converting to PCB, renewing a circuit board from schematic, and comparing them keeps an entire PCB project in sync on all design stages. Schematic capture works with hierarchical and multi-sheet schematics. Besides being very simple to learn, this software provides wide engineering capabilities with intuitive user interface. ![]() I have attached a screen shot showing the DRC and Net Connectivity results after the autoroute.DipTrace is an advanced PCB design software application that consists of 4 modules: PCB Layout with shape-based autorouter, high-speed/differential signal routing tools, and 3D PCB Preview/Export, Schematic Capture, and Component/Pattern Editors that allow you to design custom component/footprint libraries. ![]() To come up with the correct combination to make this work. I have played with the settings, but am unable ![]() The problem occurs when I then autoroute the rest of the nets - it appears that the vias are randomly placedĪnd connect to every layer, thus merging most of my nets. Should be connected to VSS or +12V are, and everything looks fabulous. +12V layer and those work great - if I run a DRC at that point, no errors. (I am using VSS as ground), then switching the pour to the correct layer. I am using a licensed starter edition (PCB Layout V2.3.1.0 - March 20, 2013) andĪm having issues with inner (non-signal) layers that are filled.Īs per instructions in an earlier post, I am doing the copper pour and connecting to a specific net A picture is worth a thousand words they say, so maybe a little drawing that shows exactly what the clearance/sizes parameters really define would avoid a lot of confusion and guesswork. However, while the minimum "drill size" is obviously the minimum diameter of the drill (which is logic and easy to understand), the "ring size" doesn't seem to define the minimum size of a ring, but the minimum distance between the edge of a drill hole and the outer border of the ring around the pad. The parameter to set this seems to be the "ring size" in the "Sizes" tab. another thing I'd need to check is the minimum delta between a drill diameter and the according pad diameter. Generally, I think the design rule check setup is a little confusing. There are other parameters as minimum silk line width and minimum text width, but as these are not (easily) changable in DipTrace anyway, they're not so important. There doesn't seem to be an option to change this. my current PCB manufacturer demands a minimum clearance of 0,2mm between silk and pads. while it is possible to check "silk over pads", it seems impossible to define a minimum clearance. Maybe I'm missing something again, but it seems the design rules check is not able to check some of the restrictions I need to fulfill to get a correct PCB.Į.g. ![]() So it would be nice to have the ability to invert a text box in the component editor (so that the rectangle becomes copper and the text is defined by the absence of copper). It would look nicer though if the text was composed of "missing copper" if you know what I mean. when you have a large copper pour on the bottom and still want to place some revision text or whatever in the copper, the current situation is that the text is in copper and there is a rectangular gap of missing copper which again is surrounded by the copper pour. One last thing I noticed is the inability to invert text on the PCB. While it's ok that they all have the same default size, it would be nice to have the possibility to change the font size of markings at least on component/pattern level. Maybe I haven't looked hard enough, but there seems to be little control of font sizes e.g. Also for larger patterns, the lack of panning makes the ability to zoom somewhat pointless. There is a manual zoom via listbox, but this seems more like a workaround. When controlling the assigned pattern in the schematic and component editor, it would be extremely helpful to have the normal panning (right mouse) and zooming (mouse wheel) control in the pattern view (also on the component side of course).
